Porcelanosa

Porcelanosa designs and manufactures a range of stunning ceramic tiles at their factory in Villarreal, Spain. They’ve been focused on sustainability since the very beginning, and have spent over 30 years making sustainable improvements to their production process.

The factory itself is full of cutting-edge technology; 33% of the energy used to manufacture Porcelanosa tiles is internally generated, and the hot air produced by the plant is re-used to dry the ceramic slip. There are also five onsite water treatment plants, so there’s no waste water.

All the waste from Porcelanosa’s manufacturing is re-incorporated in the process, after reprocessing or readapting, and all Porcelanosa tiles contain recycled materials.

Bremworth

Bremworth is a household name in New Zealand, known for their range of stunning 100% wool carpets. In 2021, they sold their last synthetic carpet, symbolising an ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Bremworth’s design and manufacturing philosophy is centred on circularity, with the ultimate goal of creating carpet using 100% compostable materials. To achieve this, they’re researching replacements for the last remaining synthetic components in wool carpets.

Marmoleum

Marmoleum is a climate-positive linoleum created by Forbo. When it comes to both style and sustainability, it’s a long way away from the linoleum you might remember from the 1980s!

Marmoleum is made from up to 98% natural raw materials, including jute, flax seed oil, wood flour, and organic pigments. Their beautiful ‘Cocoa’ range even includes crushed cocoa husks, creating its signature flecked pattern.

Marmoleum is a carbon negative product, meaning the CO2 emissions caused in the production process are lower than the CO2 production of the plants used to make Marmoleum.
